About Monash Bioethics ReviewPublished by the Centre for Human Bioethics, Monash Bioethics Review is Australia's oldest peer reviewed bioethics journal. Each issue contains several original articles by leading commentators on bioethics. Also included is an Ethics Committee Supplement, featuring original articles and news items on issues of particular interest to members of human research ethics committees. In addition, there are book reviews, news on scientific and legal developments relevant to bioethics, and an Ethics Committee Reflection. Symposia on current bioethical issues are also a regular feature of the journal. From 2009 this journal has been available in print and online. Publication frequencyGenerally, Monash Bioethics Review is published four times a year. However, in 2010–11 it will be published four times over two years. For authors and reviewersContributions are welcome and detailed submission guidelines will be available shortly. Please email contributions to MBR.Editors@arts.monash.edu.au. Contributors will receive one print copy of the issue in which their article appears. Contributors (including book reviewers) will also be provided with 12 months' free online access to the issue in which their article appeared. Book reviewsMonash Bioethics Review regularly publishes reviews of recently published monographs, edited collections and other publications. Potential book reviewers are welcome to email their interest in reviewing to the editors via MBR.Editors@arts.monash.edu.au. Reviewers will not be paid but receive a free copy of the review book, a complimentary print copy of the issue in which their review appears, as well as online access to the issue of Monash Bioethics Review in which their review appears. Publishers: please send review copies to the editors. Please note that although we are grateful to be sent review copies, unfortunately we cannot promise to review every book received. DEST accreditationMonash Bioethics Review is listed on the Australian Government's Register of Refereed Journals. The journal has been "assessed by DEST as satisfying the refereeing requirements for the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC)". This means that eligible articles, as set out in the HERDC Specifications, are able to earn DEST points for the authors' departments in Australian universities.
